Play the Rat-Run

Here's your chance to make a Followord trail. Do it better than anyone else and you'll be declared Champion (until the next one comes along).

Every so often, a title will be given. The title will be a two-word phrase, and starting at the first word all you have to do is find a way to get to the second word. Each word in your trail must connect to the word before it according to the Followord rules of connection.

When you've worked it out, click on the Contact Us button, and write your trail into the email, and send it to us. We'll judge your entries. The winner will be the one that gets from the first word of the title to the second in the smallest number of steps. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the person who has made the most elegant trail of words and who has 'stretched' the rules of connection the least.

Here's an example. Let's say the title is feathered friend. There are many different trails that could be made between these two words. Here's one fairly concise trail:

feathered - feather - plume - room - mate - friend

A particularly favoured trail is one that somehow makes a reference to the title during the course of its journey, for example:

feathered - weathered - weather - storm - stork - talk - chat - pat - pal - friend

OK, why not have a go? This week, the title is match point.

The last Rat-Run title was stir fry, and the winner was Leonard who gave us:

stir - star - starry - sky - fry
