Robert is General Manager of the John Lewis Jump to John Lewis and Waitrose site department store in Reading. Reading is a business centre 40 miles west of London. The store is part of a unique ´worker cooperative`, with an annual turnover of £4,127 million (2000) and total net assets of £1,498 million. John Lewis comprises 26 department stores, Waitrose supermarkets, a manufacturing division, farming and other activities. Early in 2000, John Lewis acquired the UK operation of buy.com The Reading store employs about 1,000 people at present.

Robert's hobbies include photography, ham radio, music and cycling, as well as the shared interest in travel. He uses a Nikon F100. His amateur radio call signs are G4XDD for the UK and Europe, and NV3Y for the USA (Extra Class).

He is training for full-time ministry in the Anglican church and studies with SEITE.
