River Of Life Church

Ethos

We primarily want to pursue the presence and character of Father, Son and Spirit.
We want to present ourselves to him in reality, intimacy, holiness and integrity, and allow him to purify our lives and hearts and to make us whole.
We want to see real, tangible interaction with God, seeing people healed and transformed by the love and power of the living God.
We want to provide a place of grace where people can be welcomed and restored.

In turn, we want to share this with others.
We want visitors to be free to come along and to be touched by God.
We want to be a blessing to other churches around us as well as those outside of church.

We believe we are being led to develop church differently from how we have known it.
This is a process and we have been uncovering this as we go along.
We aim to reduce the amount of religion and unnecessary work so that we can live "normal" lives among our families and communities, without being drained by "doing church".
We want to foster church where we can receive, be filled, be built up and share, while at the same time having time, energy and opportunity to allow God to flow through us to those around us.

We do not want to grow a culture that depends too much on its leadership, or is somehow stifled or limited by their personal strengths or weaknesses or callings.
We very much want to see everyone doing what they do best and are called to, with a strong emphasis on humility, integrity and anointing, while attending to the mundane tasks that are necessary for any church or group of people to run smoothly.

While ROL may well take on various projects or ministries as a whole church, we also encourage people to feel free to do what they themselves do naturally and do best.

ROL aims to be an oasis to sustain people as they do this; a place where they (and any others they may bring) can be fed and watered, and share.

We believe that churches, like individuals and families, have a unique calling and destiny that is part of a bigger picture.
Different churches have different strengths and styles and reach different people.
We will not be all things to all men and nor should we be.
We want to develop what we are called to be, and share it with other churches, while benefitting from what other churches have to offer.
