Old Workshop Equipment
It's nice to have things that are built to last.
My Dalton lathe was purchased second hand about 30 years ago. Originally it was a flat belt drive but my father converted it to V belt. It was made in New York USA circa 1920.
There is a bit of free play in the old gal's controls so there is a bit of an art in using it. It has a good selection of thread cutting gears. One of the pictures below shows the gear selection plate.

The plate below is attached to the tail stock and shows patent dates of 1911 and 1914. I would be interested if anyone has more information on this make of lathe. When was it imported to this country, could it perhaps be a military import for WW1 ?

A couple of months ago I picked up and old spray kit. The plate on the receiver shows it dates from 23rd December 1940. It was made by Colour Sprays Ltd Pentonvile Road London.
