Our internet radio station, the origin of The Grain Division - we began broadcasting on May 10th 2003 as an experement in sharing our alternative musical tastes. We are based in Leeds in the UK, an exciting city where music thrives.
The best mix of alternative rock, pop, prog, folk, indie, punk, psychadelic, blues, americana, featured artists & unsigned music 24/7 including excellent tracks submitted to us by unsigned artists, indie acts and bands. There is some totally swingin' stuff that finds it's way here.... see below to submit something to us.
The station is automated and plays music 24/7 with occasional live broadcasts and podcasts. Our regularly updated playlists draws from a huge catalogue of contemporary excellence, vintage classics, obscure beauty and unsigned Featured Artists. Our speciality is 'interesting rock' and 'alternative' music. This is a legal online radio station and royalties are paid via Live365.com.

The Longpigs
Oh how I miss The Longpigs. After hearing the track ‘Jesus Christ’ play randomly in Sandinista (I also heard Kula Shaker and Jethro Tull on the same occasion, not stuff you usually hear in public – great bar!), I decided to dig out my Longpigs stuff and I got to wondering where singer Crispin Hunt is these days. I mean, guitarist Richard Hawley has moved on, firstly with Pulp and now he is a class act in his own right but Crispin appears to have vanished. Some Google action revealed that he played in a short-lived band called Gramercy (who I wouldn’t mind hearing) and now he writes songs for people like Natalie Imbruglia and Newton Faulkner(!). I’ve chosen a hot selection of tracks from The Sun Is Often Out, Mobile Home and the long list of excellent B-Sides that I have in my possession to give you a taste of ten!

We play stuff that people send us - if we dig it. So if you're in a happenin' clever band, or if you are a swingin' solo artist, and make what we might consider to be 'interesting' and/or 'alternative' original music, then send them in to The Grain Division.
We'll feature your music on our station and link you on the site. It may also also open up the oportunity to play one of our excellent live music events.
To submit your stuff, either mail us a CD in the post or e-mail us an MP3 (128kpbs, 5MB max).

Grain Division's in house live DJ and general pop menace, Señor Casarejos is the bringer of grins at most Grain Division events. With his large bag of bang-up-to-date indie rock and pop records and his selection of tastey classics he is developing his own fan club. Buy the man a Diet Pepsi!
