Syston won the toss and blitzed our opening "attack" reaching 85 for 1 off 10 overs / 142 for 2 off 20 and then reaching 208 all out in 37. The tail being cleared up by Adam. Mick Stewardson was back to his best.

 

After tea with rain starting to fall we made a steady start with "cuban" Steve Gaunt seeking how to get bat on ball. Paul was unfortunately run out for 6 at 21 and Dean arrived to immediatley UP the tempo with some severe blows. With the total on 88 S Gaunt holed out on the boundary and on 118 in the 21st over Dean was caught after making a belligerent 42. This brought star man Ian out

to join his Captain. and a stand of 96 unbroken followed with (3 times dropped) Jamie scoring 76*

and Ian 17*! . Thus we reached 212 for 3 in 34.2 overs. The last 20 some overs were played in steady rain and Syston were to be congratulated in sticking it out.  Cracking win though!
