Flash game -- Cubilus.
Cubilus is a twenty level puzzle game.
To complete a level, you must move each block to its
corresponding symbol. You move blocks by dragging them
with the mouse pointer, but once they are in motion, they
will not stop until they meet a wall, or another block.
The controls below the game window allow you to select a
specific level and clicking the Cubilus logo, resets the
current level.

A nicely made little game. Some of
the levels are quite tricky and tax the old grey matter.
I like how you can select your level, so you don't get
permanently stuck, if one level defies solution.
Definitely worth trying if you enjoy a quick puzzle.
Note: you will need Flash enabled in your browser
and loading time is less than one minute on a 56k
connection.

Flash game -- Timebot v1.1
In Timebot you control a robot, that must operate
switches to open doors and create bridges, so that it can
collect all the gears in each level and open the exit.
But doors and bridges only activate when a switch is
depressed, when the robot moves off the switch, the door
closes and the bridge disappears. So the robot must jump
back in time, so that its earlier self can operate
switches for its current self. Confused yet?

The game is harder to explain than
play and after you complete the first of the twelve
levels, you will understand what is happening, although
later levels do get confusing, when it's necessary to use
more than one past version of the robot.
Timebot is an original idea for a puzzle game and
certainly makes you think. I'm currently stuck on level
eleven and finding the game both enjoyable and
frustrating (level eight is tricky and initially seems
unsolvable).

Flash game -- Phit.
Phit is a simple to play, but challenging puzzle game.
You are presented with a variety of blocks and must fit
them all into the yellow area of the screen.
You start with a few large blocks and progress to smaller
and more oddly shaped blocks.
There are one hundred levels, which you can play
sequentially, or you can jump to a specific level. Once
you have finished all the levels, the game can devise (it
takes a while) new levels on the fly.

During play you can undo moves and
if you get really stuck, you can reset the level. I found
the best strategy is to try and fit the large and oddly
shaped blocks together first and then fill in with the
small blocks. There is more than one answer for most (if
not all) levels. The number of moves and time elapsed are
displayed, although there is no highscore table.
If you enjoy puzzles and brain teasers, you should find
Phit entertaining.
Note: You will need Flash enabled in your browser
and loading time should be about a minute, on a 56k
connection.

Online game -- Bloxorz.
In Bloxorz, you control a rectangular block, which you
must drop down a hole at the end of each stage. As you
travel through a stage, you are helped by switches, which
will raise bridges. But hindered by orange tiles which
will collapse, if you stand your block upright on them.

If you fall off the tiles the level
restarts and on completion of a level you are given a
password, so that when you return to the game, you can
continue from where you left off.
Bloxorz is a challenging and difficult game, so far I
have only reached stage 7, of 33.
Note: Bloxorz is rather a large download for
dialup users at 2.14Mb (approx 8 minutes loading time on
56k) and the game has to fully load each time you revisit
it, which is a pain.
You will need Flash enabled in your browser.

Orbox B -- A Flash puzzle.
A very nice mind game that gets
harder with every level, the objective is to find your
way to the exit, destroy all the bombs, activate all the
sensors, or all three!
Control is via the cursor keys, with space to restart a
level when you get stuck, a password is provided for each
of the thirty levels you complete.
All the standard features of this type of game are
present, angled blocks, teleporters etc and although
instructions are minimal, even novices should have no
trouble understanding the game.
The later levels get very tricky and should keep even
seasoned puzzlers entertained and occupied for some time.
Loading takes less than a minute on a 56k connection.

Net, a Flash puzzle.
If you enjoy visual puzzles, you should like Net. The aim
of the game is to power all the devices on the screen,
power must also flow through all the power lines.

The power comes from the grey block,
this can be rotated using the mouse to connect with any
available outlets, you then rotate the wires and devices
to complete the circuit.
The picture to the right shows a completed circuit, the
black lines block energy and have to be worked around.
The game is very difficult, so far I have only managed to
complete a few games on the junior level, the only advice
I can give, is to start with the devices near the edge of
the screen that can only be connected one way.
Loading time, about a minute on a 56k connection.

Online Flash game -- Wordy.
Wordy is a
variation on the popular Tetris game. To remove blocks
you must spell words, by clicking on adjacent letters.
Long words and words with difficult letters, such as Z,
score more points.
Words must be at least three letters long and no more
than eight letters long (eight letters, is that all!).
You create words, by clicking on letters and double
clicking on the last letter of the word.
Every ninety seconds you progress to a new level, with
more starting blocks.
Quite a tricky game this one, requires quite a bit of
concentration and even then, there just isn't a word
available to save you sometimes.
Loading time, a couple of minutes on a 56k connection.
