TwoThree.
TwoThree is a simple, but educational shooter. Numbered
enemies will attack from the sky, you shoot them down
using the 2 and 3 keys, which will fire the numbers 2 and
3. If your shots hit the enemies, the value of your shot
is subtracted from the value of the enemy, when the
enemies value reaches exactly zero, it is destroyed.
However, if the enemies value does not reach exactly zero,
it will rain digits down on you, which collect under your
gun, moving it up the screen. When your gun reaches the
top of the screen, the game is over.

I found TwoThree quite
difficult, if you make a mistake with a couple of shots,
your gun is raised too high and it's essentially "game
over".
I have no idea how people managed to achieve the scores
listed in the online score table.
A fun, but frustrating game.
Note: You would need Flash enabled in
your browser and loading time is approximately three
minutes on a 56K connection.

Flash game -- Stunt Pilot.
Ever fancied whizzing around the sky in a highly
maneuverable stunt plane, well here's your chance.
You must fly your plane through every hoop, as quickly as
possible (to score extra points), without hitting a hoop,
balloon, tree, etc. You can go through the hoops in any
order and as many times as you want (although you only
get points for the first transit), if you go through a
succession of hoops with the boost button (space bar)
depressed, the chain bonus gives you extra points.

The game consists of
forty two levels, but after you complete all forty two,
you can continue to increase your high score with some
additional levels.
There is a bonus balloon popping round every five levels,
giving you extra points and an additional life if you pop
every ballooon. But be careful not to crash, as you can
still lose lives in the bonus rounds.
I enjoyed Stunt Pilot, the graphics and sounds are very
nice and the levels are entertaining. And it's nice to
see that you get to parachute safely to the ground after
a mid air collision.
Note: you will need Flash enabled in you
browser and loading time is approximately 5 minutes, on a
56K connection.
After the game has downloaded it does take a little while
to load, so be patient.
The game screen is quite large, so if viewing at 800*600
you might want to use full screen, which is F11 in most
browsers.

Flash game -- Pac-Xon.
Pac-Xon is a combination of two game types, Pacman and an
area reducing game (I cant remember the name, but it's
usually played with penguins).
Anyway, the object of the game is to fill at least 75% of
the empty space, by building walls around areas that are
devoid of ghosts. But if a ghost should hit your pacman,
or your incomplete wall, you lose a life.

There are a variety of ghosts, each
with different characteristics and as the game progresses
more appear. You are aided in your task by random
powerups, giving you speed boosts, or slowing the ghosts.
Pac-Xon isn't particularly difficult, because you gain a
life at the end of each level, but it is quite
entertaining once a lot of ghosts are present.

and loading time is approx two minutes on a 56k

flash game -- Crazy Mammoths
In Crazy Mammoths you race Mammoths frozen in blocks of
ice, down a snow covered course. Each course consists of
a series of check points, if your Mammoth passes a
checkpoint in the lead, you score one point. Whoever has
the most points at the final checkpoint (worth three
points) wins.

There are four Mammoths in the race
and to overtake you jump, which hopefully should move you
ahead. However quite a bit of skill and timing is
required, as the opposing Mammoths aren't going to sit
idly by, while you bound into the lead. Those ahead of
you will attempt to block your progress, while those
behind will try to jump over you.
Once you get into the lead you have the problem of air
resistance, which will slow you, while following Mammoths
slipstream in your wake, getting a speed boost.
You can play in either a three league championship,
challenge mode, or four player mode, where up to four
players can share the same keyboard, in which case, I
would imagine that it wont just be the Mammoths, who are
pushing and shoving!
Crazy Mammoths is pretty good fun and I found myself
tilting back and forth, as the slope increased and
decreased. My tip for winning is, don't always jump,
often you can slide under a jumping Mammoth and onward to
victory. Go, go, go number 23.
Note: press "space" to start the race.

time is less than a minute on a 56k connection.

Flash
game -- Gunmaster Onslaught v2.0 by Jason Reinsvold.
Gunmaster is an all action game, your
soldier defends the area from attack by enemy soldiers
who are armed with a variety of weapons, from the simple
rifle, to rockets and grenades. To add to your problems,
after a while the enemy calls up air support and ground
armour.
You have a variety of weapons to defend yourself with,
ranging from your standard gun, shotgun and machine gun,
up to the super cool guided rocket.
Ammo and health powerups are parachuted in from time, to
time.
This is a great little game, requiring some tactics, as
well as fast reflexes. Just watch out for the shrapnel
and don't run out of ammo.

Flash game -- Disorientation.
Warning:
Do Not play this game, if you are adversely affected by
swirling, zooming, or rotating images.
Disorientation, as
the name suggests, is a game that tries to confuse you by
swirling, zooming and rotating the playing area. You must
guide your character through a maze of spikes, sliding
blades and attacking clones, to reach the multi-coloured
block and move to the next level.
The clones are the major problem, as they are fairly
difficult to avoid, the rest of the obstacles are just a
matter of timing and remembering which button moves you,
in which direction.
There is an arrow, to show you in which direction you
should be moving and the full playing area is shown, at
the start of each level. A timer shows how long you have
taken to complete the game, I completed it, in just over
eight minutes.
I found that the continual disorientation effects, were
quite nausea inducing on later levels, so don't play the
game if you are upset by visual effects. The game also
features quite gruesome impaling and beheading sequences,
when your character makes a mistake, so is unsuitable for
small children, or those of a nervous disposition.

Flash Game --
Asteroids.
Having been around
when video games first appeared, I am always interested
when I find games that claim to be copies of original
games from that era, most are rather pale imitations, but
this Asteroids game is pretty close.
Its made with Shockwave Flash, so
the file size is a small 22k.
The graphics are very faithful to the original and the
sound is fairly close.
The game does lack either a hyperspace jump feature or a
shield, features that were in the original game,
depending on the version you played.
The controls are the arrow keys to move and space to fire,
there is an online high score feature but as I played it
offline I cant guarantee whether it works or not.

Flash
game -- The problem with Pukis.
On a routine space mission you have picked up a cute pet
called a Puki, however after accidental exposure to gamma
radiation, your harmless pet has begun to breed like a
Tribble and has changed into a ferocious killer, with a
taste for blood.... your blood.
You must race through the space stations corridors,
wiping out the Pukis, before they finish you.
The game graphics are in a pleasant washed
out style, however it can make some objects difficult to
see. Unusually for a Flash game, it is 3D, with a very
good corridor effect.
There are some good blood effects as you shoot the Pukis.
The game controls are rather tricky, aiming and shooting
are done with the mouse, which works well, but moving,
crouching and shields, is done with the A,W,S,D, Shift
and Space keys, which is rather tricky and I often lost
powerups through pressing Caps Lock, rather than Shift to
crouch.
You have a laser to shoot the Pukis and forcefields, this
works well in the early levels, but your laser does
overheat rather easily, which causes problems later on.
Your heath and progress are shown with a bar and pointer
at the bottom right of the screen, while the vertical bar
is your shield. There are powerups available through the
game, to give you extra time, or repair your shields, or
health, but it is not clear what some do, the yellow
exclamation mark seemed to reduce your health!
The game has twelve levels, three of which are bonus
levels, where it doesn't matter if you die, which is just
as well, as I died every time.
In conclusion, a very good game, let down somewhat by the
awkward controls, but great fun.

Flash game -- Thrust II.
In Thrust II, your
mission is to maneuver a rocket, from the launch pad, to
the landing pad. Along the way shoot balloons for extra
points and shoot doors to open them. The faster you
complete a level, the more bonus points you earn.
The rocket is fairly easy to control, but I found that
shooting balloons could be tricky and it was often wise
to ignore them, but avoid running into balloons, as they
will destroy your rocket.
The eight levels get progressively harder and I still
havent completed the game.

Flash
game -- Helicopter.
A very simple Flash game, guide your
helicopter through the caves, without hitting the floor,
or ceiling, while dodging the obstacles.
Click your mouse button to go up, release to go down, a
very basic game but surprisingly addictive, how far can
you get?
My record is 1072 feet.

Flash
game -- !Fishy!
Fishy is a very simple game, but quite entertaining. Your
fish must eat smaller fish to grow, while avoiding being
eaten by larger fish.
It's possible to make your fish grow so large, that no
other fish can eat you and the game does have an ending
if you grow enormous, but I'm not going to tell you what
it is............

Nobody
messes with you when you get this big.
