My Programs.

This is a collection of freeware games and utilities created by me, I hope you enjoy them.
None of the games/utilities need installing, just unzip the zip file and click on the exe file to run, they should run on Windows 95/98, ME, XP, NT4 or 2000.
To uninstall simply delete the folder.


Square Puzzle.

A jigsaw game, but played with square pieces within the confines of its own picture like a click and slide. I created this game because I like jigsaws, but when doing them on the computer there isn't enough space for the pieces on the screen.
You can use any jpg or bmp picture on your computer, it will be automatically resized to the best screen fit.

Cavern Defender.

This is a sideways scrolling space shooter, with seven levels of enemies and a mothership to defeat.
I didn't originally set out to create this game, I was just playing about with a random landscape example I found and the game sort of evolved from it.
The game has the option of joystick control.

Drawn Asteroids.

This is a basic asteroids game, written as a experiment to see how small I could make a game using GM, while it still remained a proper game. The game images are all drawn, with no sprites used except as collision masks.
Some tiles are used to draw the stars on the background, as drawing them would have consumed to many resources. The only serious problem was the main ship image, which has only 8 sub images, as each image had to be calculated by hand on graph paper.

System Requirements.
The game was created on a computer running Win 98se at 800mhz, so anything that speed or faster should be OK, older machines may slow down a bit during the explosions because of the amount of drawing involved. Fps should be about 30, it is displayed in the bottom left of the screen.

Helicopter Dodge
A micro game by Thrain & Rob.

Fight your way through an ever increasing swarm of hostile? balloons, hit a balloon or the ground and you are dead, go too high and your helicopter can't take it. You can shoot the balloons and gain thirty points with each hit, but can you fire and dodge? Get as far as you can, for the highest score.

This was originally a game by Thrain, but I then modified it to improve the graphics and reduce the file file size so that it could be used as a micro game in the GM Newsletter. ( Had to be under 25k in editable form when zipped.)

Handy Notes.

Handy Notes is a fairly simple sticky notes program, you can save up to five notes each up to eighty characters in length, the time the note is written is added to the note and all the notes are automatically saved when you exit the program.
You can also increase the window size by pressing scale in the menu.

Mouse Cleaner.

This was my first ever project made with Game Maker.
Mouse cleaner is a small utility that allows you to clean your mouse ball, without turning off your computer or making accidental mouse clicks.

To Do List.

As the name suggests ToDo List is a handy pad to jot down those tasks and appointments you might otherwise forget.
ToDo List gives you two note areas for each day of the week and saves your notes even when the program is closed.

The program is highly configurable, allowing you the option of turning the sounds, start and exit screens and note clear confirmations, on or off.
You can also alter the font size to allow for users who have large fonts set and the programs window size can be increased by twenty percent, albeit with some loss of graphics quality.
