Railways

"Edinburgh Engineering"
Class 37 locomotive crossing a viaduct to the west of Edinburgh.
"Peak"
Class 45 locomotive pauses at Rothley on the Great Central Railway.
"Brown!"
Brush Type 2 Class 31 seen leaving Loghborough, the colour scheme was an experimental one.
"The yard"
Diesel locomotives stabled beyond the station at Loughborough. Visible are the Brush 2, Warship hydraulic and a Class 25.
"Class 20"
An English Electric type 1 engine. These usually operated in pairs as they were low powered and only had cabs at one end.
"Coal Train"
Class 56 at Brocklesby, Lincolnshire.
"Light loco"
Like many boys I was interested in trains when young and I still enjoy 'snapping' them. A locomotive heads light engine south at the site of Codnor Park Station, Derbyshire.
"Merry go Round"
There's no spectacle when a modern train passes. A class 66 heads north past the site of Codnor Park Station with a loaded 'merry go round' coal train.
"Thumper"
At the time of writing, 2004, these units had just been withdrawn from the Uckfield line. This unit was snapped in March 2003 near Cowden station. We were staying nearby (see Landmark) and I will always remember hearing these trains leaving the station.
"Shunter"
Class 03 shunter stands at Cheddleton station in the Churnet Valley, home of the North Staffordshire Railway (also known as the Knotty).
