This pub stands on the side of the Caldon Canal mainline and has the Leek branch running behind it.

It is was the home of the world champions at tug of war!

Probably the most photographed castle in Scotland on the road to the Kyle of Lochlash.

East of Inverness is Castle Brodie. This property is owned by the National Trust for Scotland.

"Watermill"

 
This delightful watermill is situated in Alvingham, near Louth, Lincolnshire.

"Llanthony Priory"

 
The ruin of Llanthony now has a hotel in its grounds. It lies in a valley.
Some what more breathless this was taken from the top of the hill which the Offa's dyke footpath runs along. Stayiny at the Priory seemed like a good idea now!

"Stonebow"

 
The 'Stonebow' in Lincoln, before pedestrianised single deck buses used to go under this arch.

"Caernarfon Castle"

 
This was the setting for the investiture of Prince Charles, one of the chairs used is contained in the landmark in the city wall.

"Alton"

 
Alton Gatehouse. This house stands at the entrance to Alton Towers opposite the, now closed, railway station (a landmark property). In past times visitors arriving by train would use this entrance.
Alton Castle stands on the opposite side of the valley to Alton Towers.
