Secretary's Report 2005-2006

The two main activities this year were:-

Wales TUC Conference

Three delegates went from the Trades Council this year. Myself, Wilf Carter and Rose Dentus . We took an active part in the conference making a number of contributions to the debate. Both of our motions, on the Welsh Language and the Environment, were passed. One of our amendments, on the Teachers' workload agreement, was passed, our other amendment on the war in Iraq , was defeated.

Tolpuddle

Three members of the Trades Council, myself, Karl Riordan and Rose Dentus , took the Trades Council banner to the annual Tolpuddle march. The weather was very hot and sunny and the day was a memorable one. We enjoyed the speeches and the music.
