Bin2C converts binary files into C source code. For example, instead of loading a sprite file at runtime, you might want to have something like this in one of your source files:

  0x00, 0x23, 0xff, ...
  0x00, 0x44, 0xfa, ...

This would be immensely tedious to type in by hand of course, but Bin2C will do all the hard work for you.

There are several advantages to applying this method to some types of data:

This is a very early version of Bin2C, and comes with very basic instructions. However, it's very easy to use. Simply run it, then drag the file you want to convert to the iconbar icon. Then drag the resulting text file to whereever you want it to be saved.

Bin2C needs Acorn's ToolBox modules. If you do not have these modules (they are in the RISC OS 3.6 and later ROMs) you can download them too.
