* * * * Star Award Samurai was added to Chessington World of Adventures at a cost of £1m in 1999. It is situated in the Mystic East section of the park and replaced the ageing 1001 Nights. Samurai is known as a Top Scan ride and Samurai is the only one of its kind in any UK Theme Park, however there is a travelling equivalent. Samurai lets your feet dngle free as on an inverted coaster and this adds to the thrills of this ride. After being strapped in by a shoulder restraint and lap belt you begin. The central arm rises and the arms begin to rotate around it. The the individual arms (there are 6 of them) tilt forward and back whilst revolving around the main arm.
