* * Star Award

The Revolution is unbelievably, the only rollercoaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach to feature an inversion.

Unfortunately for us it has merely a single loop which you go through twice. After seating yourself in the very low sunk seats your over the shoulder restraints come down and you hear a rather cheesy voice-over trying to build up the ride before a countdown.

After the countdown reaches 1 you are propelled out of the station and down a small but sharp hill before entering the loop. Upon exit you climb and equally sharp hill upwards before slowing down in the brakes on the flat at the far end of the ride. The same thing happens all over again however this time backwards after this the ride is over.

Rather basic I know but a good ride all the same. The loop is extrememly smooth however a little small but the speed you gain from the launch before entering the drop gives some pretty good air-time. A unexpected but very much appreciated surprise.

The ride was given a facelift in 1998 and gained the sponsorship of Irn-Bru. Blackpool Pleasure Beach has also added a brand new train for this year.
