A Pictorial Guide of Stockton Heath

Stockton Heath is a prosperous village and district located in the Borough of Warrington, Cheshire, neighbouring Appleton, Grappenhall and Walton. It is to the south of the Manchester Ship Canal which divides Stockton Heath from north Warrington.

It is made up of two Parishes

The village is close to the M56/M6 motorways, which in turn makes it an ideal location to commute to Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Wirral, North Wales and London. House prices are relatively buoyant in the area.

Victoria Square is at the very centre of the village. Immediately next to this is a shopping area which includes The Forge Shopping Centre. The village centre is also home to a number of modern bars and restaurants, as well as traditional public houses. The Red Lion Inn dates back to the early 1800s.

Since 1988, much of the centre of Stockton Heath village has been designated a conservation area to preserve its character. At the same time, there has been redevelopment work with several new bars and restaurants moving into the village centre.

Stockton Heath has a police station, fire station, medical centre, park and library. It holds annual walking day, followed by a fair, in early July.
