Legal Services
All legal services are provided at the absolute discretion of the National Executive Council of the Union and /or its duly appointed Legal Officer. Assistance will only be provided if you co-operate fully with your Local Branch Official, Union Headquarters and the Union's appointed Solicitors.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your Claim Form arrives at the Union's Legal Services Department and that you receive a written acknowledgement.
If you move from the address given on the Claim Form you must notify in writing both Union Headquarters and your Local Branch Official of your new address.
If you leave your employment you must remain a member of the Union, failing which the Union cannot continue to support your claim.
Never volunteer for medical retirement. Leave the decision to your employer / Occupational Health Service

Make sure that you give your Local Branch official a copy of any assessment that you receive from the DSS.
All members are insured in respect of injuries on duty which result in death or permanent disability. Ask your Local Branch Official to ensure that all relevant details are sent to us immediately as the Insurance Company must be notified within 3 Months of the date of your Accident
