8th October, 2005.  Parts of the garden think it's autumn.

The double purple daturas and coleus have been fighting all summer.  There are so many buds on the dats, I hope summer will continue until Christmas.

The kafir lilies are giving their normal autumn show.

A closer look

My son requested some pampas seeds when he was two, he's 25 now and this is the only remaining one.  Note the Rhus typhina in the background.

The elephant ears don't think it's autumn yet.

The bullrushes do though.

Winter troughs are planted up with frilly pansies.  Oh good, cup of tea on the brew.

My weird bed is ready to face its first winter.

The ipomoea on the trellis are ready for pulling down

This clematis is happy with the cooler days.
