As Senior Vice President, Bill Jackson takes over the Chair of this Committee. Bill is committed to continuing a number of the initiatives of last year, when the Club took a number of innovative steps forward. In accordance with one of the main innovations of last year, Bill will be continuing the monthly News Sheet under the editorial control of Junior Vice President Glenn Goodman. Bill's programme also includes the following:-
- Archives & Property Book - during last year Junior Vice President Bill Jackson along with Past President Alan Kelly started to update the property book with emphasis on Club archives. As Senior Vice President, Bill will continue this project.
- Inter Club Visits - following the success of the last two years' scatter weeks, we intend to repeat this exercise.
- Membership matters - the Committee recognises that targets are being set in the drive to bring new members into the Rotary movement and will work to recruit and retain members in the Rotary Club of Warsop. The Committee also emphasises, however, that we must not sacrifice quality for quantity.
- Fellowship and Sports - this year the emphasis is on fellowship and our Sports Officer, Rotarian John Benison intends to pursue a programme of activities, which will be inclusive to all members in addition to encouraging participation in District competitions.
- Speakers - the speaker finder, Rotarian Tony Sisson, wishes to continue to provide speakers on a wide range of subjects and he would appreciate members suggestions on topics and names of potential speakers.
- Attendance - the Committee is aware of the changes to attendance rules proposed by the Council on Legislation. When we receive the definitive document, recommendations will be made to Club Council for consideration.
- Code of Good Conduct - Rotarian Steve Garner will continue to monitor this and make any recommendations as necessary.
The above is just a flavour of the planned activity to maintain the Club's healthy state, which builds on previous years.
