Background
Introduction
Hi, Im Richard Gale, a web developer from the North East of England. In my day job I develop web apps using Microsoft Visual Studio.
In my spare time I design and develop websites and databases, I have also built a number of PC Systems.
I script my websites/databases with the following: ASP.NET, VB, SQL, PHP, MySQL, HTML and CSS.
How I Work
I feel that it is key to work closely with the client, this ensures that their ideas and opinions are conveyed, at the same time they gain a better understanding of the product and what it does. Communication is key, from all parties, to ensure that the finished product meets the requirements.
From my day job I tend to adopt an Agile approach to development, this promotes disciplined project management and encourages frequent inspection and adaptation, which in turn delivers a better final product.
Personal Information
I hold a BSC (hons) degree in Information Technology, along with a Diploma in Computing and 9 GCSE's.
I see myself as a bit of a perfectionist, with an eye for detail and quality, with a constant focus on client needs.
I have built up a wide range of computer skills, from courses studied, work and also in my spare time.
Away From Computers
When I am not messing around with computers I love spending time with my young family.
We own miniature horses which we show with the Miniature Horse Club of Great Britain, so these can consume a lot of time.
I also enjoy photography, sport, music and being outdoors.
