About Sawley Players
The Sawley Players were formed in 1995, we came together to perform a pantomime just the once, a one off, a moment of
madness for a good cause. All the money we raised went to the Sawley Community Association to put towards the renovation of a very tumbled down Community Hall,
which was built in Sawley as a War Memorial.
A decade on and we are still together going from strength to strength, the pantomime has become an annual event and now we are also performing Plays and Cabaret nights, to date
raising an excellent sum of money to be proud of.
We put our success down to a number of things, a dedicated backbone of cast, supported by friends, family and members of the Sawley Community Association, all pulling
together to give as much pleasure as possible. Also, of course, we must mention our audiences, who have also gone from strength to strength and given us fantastic support in whatever
we do.
We hope to go on for many years to come, raising even more money for additional improvements to the halls facilities. It is a hall Sawley can now be proud of and a great venue to hire out for
all sorts of occasions.
As a group, we are always pleased to hear from people interested in joining us. At present we do have a waiting list for youngsters eager to get into the
pantomime, but we encourage any older people, fellow thespians. Please get in touch by leaving a message in our guestbook if you are interested in joining a very professional, fun, friendly
and lively group of people!
