Welcome to this website. The DickasonsAcknowledgements For many years Carol Nash has painstakingly researched the family history of the Dickasons in England and the records of the Dickason family in England on this website represent her work. The information about the family in Australia, South Africa and Argentina and some of the English family, is the work of Graham Brian Dickason and is reproduced with his kind permission. Introduction The village of Necton in Norfolk has been home to members of the family since at least 1680. Some moved to London in the 19th century and Dickasons have emigrated to South Africa, North America, Australia, New Zealand and possibly to other parts of the world as well. The descendants of those who emigrated can often trace their family members back to Necton. Graham Dickason, who lives in South Africa, has compiled a remarkable family tree, and written a book entitled 'The Dickason Family in South Africa'. It records the Dickasons who emigrated to Australia, South Africa and Argentina and a large number of their descendants as well as the origin of the family in Necton in Norfolk. You can find his tree by clicking on the 'Trees' button on the left. For an extract from his book in which he discusses the origin of the name Dickason click here The Church Wardens' records for All Saints Church in Necton show that Dickasons as carpenters were employed to repair the church, almshouses and other village buildings; younger members of the family were paid to catch sparrows. Click on the Records button on the left to see some examples of these records. The site includes family trees, records from the International Genealogical Index and some information about All Saints Church in Necton. It is by no means complete.
