Today we have Dickason’s with a connection back to Norfolk living in Australia, New Zealand, America, Canada, South Africa, and Argentina. The Argentina families are from a branch in South Africa.

South Africa

This branch is descended from;

ROBERT  c 29.11.1769  (son of William & Elizabeth Murrell)

 m  18.07.1802- Mary Claybrook. St Mary Newington London.

Emigrated December 1819 aged 50, with his four children – Amelia, Frederick, Alfred & Henry.

Family legend has it that Mary died in London shortly  before emigration.

As part of a British Government scheme they went to the then Cape Colony.

   

Australia

This branch is descended from;

ROBERT  c28.06.1814    (son of Mathew & Hannah).   died 10.06.1868,  Richmond,  Victoria.  Australia.                  

m 20.06.1841- Elizabeth Hartshorne. this records shows in Necton & All Souls, St Marylebone. London.

Children,  Thomas, & Robert. Both born in Marylebone. Edward & Alfred, both born in Necton. 

He was a Wheelwright, Joiner and Inn Keeper at the Carpenters Arms, Ivy Todd, with his mother Hannah.

Emigrated on the Mermaid, from Liverpool 20.11.1855.

Arrived Melbourne 11.02.1856.

 

MATTHEW c 15.05.1808   (son of Mathew & Hannah) died 31.05.1891. Richmond, Victoria ,Australia,

Buried Booroondara Cemetery, Kew, Victoria.

m  Mary Clark .

He was a carpenter. Lived at 49, Wooton St. Lambeth, London.

Children, Hannah 1837,John 1839, Robert 1841, Sarah Ann 1843, Mary 1845, Robert  (2nd) 1847, Charlotte 1851,  Harriet 1852, Louisa 1857,  & 1 unnamed son.

Emigrated on the Sabrina from Southampton 24.01.1857.

 

JOSEPH on the Delgany from London  24.07. 1852. arriving Port Phillip Victoria.13.11.1852.

JAMES on the Delgany from London 24.07.1852, arriving Port Phillip, Victoria 13.11.1852

JOHN     on the Tudor from Plymouth 28.03.1857, arriving 30.06.1857..
