DNA Project - Dickason and related names.

The Group coordinator for the Dickason project is Don Dickason and by clicking on the 'JOIN THIS GROUP' link on the Family Tree website you can find out how to arrange your own DNA test. The test results are sent to you and to Don Dickason who includes them in the project data.

On the first page (Dickason DNA) there is a record of the results of DNA tests explained by Don.  Briefly they show that people with Dickason and related names fall into five groups; the first three, groups A, B and C are composed of families in America, Group A originates from James Dickason, born 1792 in Fayette Co., Pennsylvania, Group B leads back to Jacob Dickason born 1740-50 in Virginia and Group C originating from Alexander Dickason born 1752 in Hampshire Co., Masachusetts, his father is said to have come from England.

Group D has its origin at Necton in England and families in South Africa, Australia and Argentina belong to this group, Group E is also English and in Group X there are a lines that have genealogical dead ends.
