The decision to do this epic walk was initially Catherine’s splendid idea; mainly to mark her 50th year, but also inspired by her parents Keith and Brenda, whose favourite walk it was. Another factor was the opportunity to raise money for Wilmslow Wells for Africa, a water aid charity set up by Brenda.
The main trigger to actually do it, was Rich (Kate's husband), who had cycled the length of Britain the year before. Kate just came along for the ride and because she couldn’t resist! She decided to raise money for the British Lung Foundation as she and daughter Sally both have dodgy lungs.
We would like to say an especially big thank you to all the lovely people who sponsored us; it motivated us from start to finish.
