- Ph.D. Research: Machine Vision Systems (MVS) and Object Recognition -
My research has addressed generic machine vision driven by Gabor filters for the identification of textural objects. The system is designed to provide an efficient means of transforming several hundreds of images by using a number of new techniques that improves the computational time required.
The work also addresses incremental learning to allow the addition of new information without any adverse effects on the existing knowledge. This technique avoids the need to re-train existing information during new additions or modifications to texture classes.
