When I was 16 a friend and I went to London - to Tin Pan Alley (Denmark Street) to look at a guitar he had seen. When I first picked up the Jackson Kelly I was blown away - the feel, shape, sustain - I loved it. Four years later, whilst at Uni I used my student loan to buy a Kelly Pro (Japanese made version). Within three years I had worn out the frets, filled the switches with dust and the neck was looking bent. I traded my Kelly for an Ibanez S520 and that was that. However, I missed the shape and sound of the Kelly and as good as the Ibanez was it could never be a true replacement. Then my wedding came and my wife imported a USA made (the real deal) Kelly KE2 for me in metallic black. What a present! In reply to this I created KellyCult.com and have vowed never to get rid of my dream guitar again!
