"Bigger Picture" - Great Britain

OAC
began
in Australia in 1892, came to Britain in 1968 and started in Scotland in 1984.
It is part of 'Open
Air Campaigners International' and
is working in 20 countries worldwide. OAC
is a member of the Evangelical
Alliance and adheres to the EA statement of faith.

OAC evangelists are trained in
open air work with both children and adults and conduct outgoing evangelism in
city centres, shopping precincts, housing estates and public places.

OAC has
one of the largest school ministries in the UK. Thousands of children are reached each week during term time
through Assemblies and RE lessons.

OAC evangelists are involved in
all levels of church ministry from strategy consultations to preaching
missions, family services, and leading holiday clubs.
OAC is there to serve the church in its outreach ministry.

OAC have a strong emphasis on
training, and as a result many churches and organisations are now actively
involved in outreach.

OAC
evangelists also lecture in Bible Colleges, and work with mission
organisations throughout Europe, teaching seminars, leading summer teams, and
planting churches overseas.

OAC introduced and pioneered the
use of the sketchboard in open air evangelism.

OAC also make Gospel
presentations in community centres, prisons, retirement homes, hospitals and
other situations - in other words “Presenting Christ by all means
everywhere.”
