OVERVIEW

THE NEED FOR REMAP

The commercial market provides a wide range of aids for the disabled, but to produce such items economically it can only address the mass market. As every person is an individual, disabilities can and do effect people uniquely.

In most instances the vast range of general aids commercially available (as can be seen at the Naidex exhibitions) can meet most requirements, but of course there is always something that someone needs that is not available.

So where can a disabled person find that unique item that would be just the thing to make the quality of life a little better? - REMAP

HOW DOES IT WORK

A group of volunteers called panels are located throughout the country to serve their local community. All the members have medical, engineering or other specialist skills to enable them to assess, problem solve, design and to adapt or make a piece of equipment to help a disabled person where the item is not available commercially.

CAN WE HELP?

Do you know of some one whose quality of life would be improved, if only SPECIAL equipment was available.

WHAT WE CAN DO ?

We can help you (or your medical adviser) to assess your special needs.

We can help problem solve to meet that need.

We can design equipment for that need.

We can adapt or make an item just for you.

We can help to find funding if necessary.

The improbable we do immediately the impossible just takes a little longer!!!

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

We cannot provide funds for commercially available aids or equipment.

We cannot recommend commercially available aids or equipment. We can sometimes suggest that a commercial device may be available and where this can be obtained, but it is stressed that an appropriate medical practitioner advises the suitability.

We will not design or build an aid if to do so would be against medical advice
