I wonder how many of you out there know how to relax, I
mean really relax in mind and body? I
do not mean by sitting down and watching the TV or by going down to the pub, I
mean really relax to alleviate stress and emotional strains. With these stressed all around us every day, it is important that we learn this technique to allow us to relax and let go of these negative feelings and emotions. To be able to relax totally in mind and body is not a five minute thing, but with help, can be achieved and used to your advantage in a short space of time. The benefits that you receive will affect you on many levels, enabling you to handle and react differently to stressful situations, to be more in control, and to handle these situations with more calm.

The therapy is wonderfully relaxing as it teaches you how to totally relax totally. When you first arrive the therapist will take a case history from you, this is to establish how long you have been experiencing your problems, and to what levels your stresses have reached, and the times that you are most aware of them. Are there any particular situations of times when you feel more stressed, how do you relax and enjoy yourself. Relaxation therapy is done using visualisation, firstly the therapist will guide you through a progressive relaxation, which will slowly relax down your mind and body, she will then go on into the visualisation, guided to use what ever is relevant to your individual needs. Calming and peaceful music will be played during the sessions, and the therapist will let you know when the session is complete by gently talking your awareness back into the room, and being aware of yourself heavy on the bed. Life today is so stressful, we run around not allowing ourselves time for a little relaxation, take the time now to make that time for yourself and you will reap the benefits in your everyday life.
