Discovered in 3500 B.C. in Mesopotamia/Persia. During the Bronze Age. First metallic alloy created by the scientific discovery of synthesis. The people built large rock bread ovens in the preceding Agricultural Age to bake their bread in, once heated to a high temperature the rocks of which the ovens were made started to release melted deposits of copper and tin which on melting formed on the bottom of the oven base creating discs, once cold these metal discs were removed, and these created the first Gongs, Ancient sacred gongs were also said to include meteorites that fell from the heavens.
Spiritual & Cultural
Buddha in 600BC had all bells and gongs inscribed with two Mandarin Chinese Characters TAI and LOI implying that when the gong or bell is struck “Happiness Arrives with a corresponding Spiritualization of matter”. The return of Gong consciousness to the world heralds the immanent return of the coming Buddha in the hearts of Humanity under the name of Maitreya which means “Loving Kindness and Musical Resonance”.
An ancient tool that was used as an initiatory tool for enlightenment, etheric projection, and exorcism of negative spirits, the gong proclaimed the presence of spiritual royalty, kept the sick from dying and safely transported the deceased to their heavenly home, and was possibly employed in the levitation of heavy stones. The gong is named after the sound that is makes OM. OM is the living resonance within everything.
The Gong is one of the
oldest forms of sound; it is still used today in some Eastern Countries for
Ceremonial purposes, for Weddings, Funerals, Celebrations and Religious
Rituals. It is a very ancient and revered instrument.

Gong tones add together and subtract to create a fullness of sound called functional harmony. The mathematics involved is the Fibannicci Series. In music it is the resultant theory. In quantum physics it is chaos theory of quazi-periodic patterns and 3 dimensional hologramic fractalization. Recently, intense sound waves when focused on a bubble have been found to create a strange blue light called sono-luminescence.
The Gong is an engine of power releasing tone resonance and complex harmonics that are transferred to the recipient. It is an etheric opening of fullness. It stimulates the paranormal experiences of yogic Samadhi….. dematerialization, levitation, time-lessness, bliss and rejuvenation. It relieves the stresses of every day life, and revitalizes the immune and nervous system.
The Gong can also be used to clear blockages within the aura and chakras as it works on many levels. It is super regenerating and increases your bodies ability to heal itself.
When the Gong is played in the right way it can put the person into a state of meditation as the mind cannot cope with the sound of the Gong. The Gong can be played using many different types of mallets, which create many different sounds from the Gong from very gentle sounds, to heart beats and building up to the much louder sounds that many people will associate with the Gong. It is a very sacred, versatile and powerful healing tool.
During a Gong Sound Therapy you will experience the beautiful sounds of the Gong created especially for you, as every session will be different. The most important thing to relax and let the sound do its work. Some people fall a sleep and that is fine, it means that they are totally relaxed allowing the Sound to do its work.
During the session other instruments may be used, Tibetan Bowls, Bells, Shakers, Rain Sticks etc, what ever is right for you. It may cause feelings of upliftment, or feelings of being energised, emotional freedom, release. We are all individual and any form of healing is a very personal experience and will vary from one person to another.
