Rotary is an
international humanitarian service organization with 1.2 million members in 167
countries. It is divided into districts with District 1030 covering north-east
England. IN REDCAR - FOR REDCAR A Double Celebration On the 21st July the Rotary Club of Redcar is marking the approach of the Olympic games and the charitable activities in the town by holding a mini-games for children on the beach. The main feature here will be "The Lemon-Top Relay". The games will feature traditional children's sports activities.
On the High Street there will be a Town Fair event featuring local charities and service organisations who will be showcasing their work and some will be fund raising. To give the event a real Town Fair feel there will also be a band concert in the morning and a further concert in the afternoon. There will be a Punch & Judy show, face painting and balloon modelling. The Kirkleatham Owl Centre, home to one of the U.K.'s largest collection of owls, will be there exhibiting some of their birds. Cyclemaster Pedals 4 All invites you to try out the wicked adrenalin-pumping KMX KARTS. The Rotary Club wants the event to show how vibrant the various groups are in town and to bring a fun day to the town. Come along and see what is going on, join in and make it a day that can be enjoyed by all age groups. It's a free event to attend, but you may well be tempted to support some of the organisations by a small donation. But mainly come and enjoy the day. |
