"THE PRICE OF FREEDOM"

Arromanches 360º is an experience not to be missed when on the D-Day Trail. Overlooking the beachside resort of Arromananches, is situated the massive circular building which houses the 360º cinema.
The Allied landings really come alive when you view the film "The Price of Freedom" which is projected on nine screens in a round hall.
Present day pictures along with rare, mainly unseen archive footage of the events of D-Day make this 18 minute film presentation a fabulous experience, plunging you right in the thick of the action!!
You are transported back in time to June 6th. 1944 to witness the historical events as they took place!
Actually fly over Pointe du Hoc, go right into the heart of the bunkers, come ashore on Omaha Beach.
When you visit Arromanches-360º it's the nearest you get to being there.
A visitors shop is also on site selling a fabulous selection of memorabilia.

THE MASSIVE CIRCULAR CINEMA OVERLOOKING ARROMANCHES

The film that you will see uses an exclusive technique, the "CIRCORAMA" designed by Patrick Besenval and "Les Productions du Futuroscope". The technique basically involves filming with a combination of 9 synchronised cameras.
When these are mounted on a boat or tank or an helicopter, this system places you in the centre of the landscape and the ACTION!!

I must say that most of the film is biased to the American landings and it is only at the end that the Commonwealth troops feature, maybe this is because the film footage was unavailable, I don't know. Never the less it is a "MUST SEE" when on the D-Day Trail.
