Hubberholme-Grangefarm Bunkbarn offers magnificent views of Langstrothdale and is a superb base for walking. Situated in Hubberholme near Skipton in North Yorkshire so not too far to travel! Grange Farm offers centrally heated accommodation for up to 18 people in four bedrooms with full self catering and recreational facilities.
Summer in the Lakes - at Greenhow Caravan Site- 11th 13th July
This is a chance to visit or revisit the Landgales one of the more popular IVC venues, set in the heart of the lake district.
The caravans are well equipped, warm, clean and comfortable. The scenery and walking is wonderful in this area though it is possible to choose to do other sight seeing.
Derbyshire and the Peak District 26th -28th September
Enjoy a stay at the Gradbach Mill YHA Hostel (IVC sole use).
This is a 3 star hostel. A former mill in its own secluded grounds on the banks of the River Dane, Gradbach is a superb base for walking the Peaks or the Staffs Moorlands. The NT has nearby properties including Quarry Bank Mill, Little Morton Hall, Tatton Park, Dunham Massey and Biddulph Grange ....". Clearly Buxton is not far either.
Christmas Weekend Away December 5th-7th
Blencathra in the Lake District. A popular location and a great base for walking and sight seeing. Specail meal on Saturday evening, music, dancing and great company.
In the past few years there have been a range of other weekends away e.g. city breaks to Dublin, Amsterdam, Edinburgh and Warwick; a seaside B & B weekend at hotels in Criccieth (near Portmerion); cycling weekends in the Dales and Cotswolds and a multi-activity weekend in the Lake District. Most of these were arranged by individual members rather than the committee, so if you fancy one why not put it in the bulletin.
