We offer a range of shirts made in the style of the English Civil War, that being the early to mid C17th or seventeenth century.
All our shirts are professionally made to a very high standard, with particular attention to authentic cut, hand-finishing, and strong construction, giving a garment which is tough enough for fighting in, comfortable enough for living in, and which looks great.
They have been roughly classified into three categories: Soldier Shirt, Officer Shirts and Pirate Shirts. Soldier Shirts are ideal for re-enactment groups such as the Sealed Knot and the English Civil War Society, as well as for Live Role Play and Live Action Role Play: they are authentic for the period as well as being strong and comfortable to wear. Officer shirts are cut to a much more sophisticated pattern, and have options for high-class detailing such as lace-edged collars. Finally, we have Pirate shirts for everyone else, be they Goth, Ren, aspiring Rock Star (are you famous yet, Gary?) or simply fancy dress! This should help you to locate the shirt you want most easily, but of course anyone can buy from any category.
The fabrics used are all 100% cotton, or 100% linen, and for the Soldier shirts, the cut and construction are as authentic as is possible without doing it all by hand.
