The shirts are unyoked, being gathered into a large collar with a hand-finished front lacing which would normally be left as loose as possible for that thoroughly decadent look. The sleeves are very full and ridiculously long, gathered on the wrist, and edged in lace.

Here is a close-up of the neck, showing the large lay-flat collar and the beautifully hand-embroidered lacing holes, here tied with an extremely fine satin ribbon. There are three sets of lacing holes in all. The collar can be edged with lace if required.
