Best of all, instead of being an investment that only your grandchildren will enjoy, Living Willow creates an instant impact, and will be growing within the first season.
In addition to Living Willow, I use willow to make woven items such as plant supports, wigwams, and obelisks. Unlike the Living Willow, these don't grow, and they last between 5-10 years in normal weather conditions.
Recently two lovely ladies came all the way from Reading to collect a number of wigwams - they ordered two specially-large eight foot obelisks, six six-foot obelisks (three each) and, on a whim, one small wigwam. It took us a little while to get them all in their car, but we managed: the phrase of the day was "Where there's a willow, there's a way!"
Living Willow items only need maintenance once a year: in the winter they need to be cut back, and any broken or failing struts can be attended to. I am very happy to carry out this regular maintenance on my own work, or on that of other people.
