Eu4ia Barbershop Quartet
WELCOME to the home web site of Eu4ia
Kate _______ Nancy ________ Sandra _______ Jane

The quartet has sung all over the UK and in Ireland, Holland and Germany. In July 2003 they sang on the World Harmony Jamboree at the SPEBSQSA international barbershop competition in Montreal and whilst there recorded a jingle for the local radio station. Their CD "Harmonal" has been played on BBC Radio 2 and is available via the website.

The girls are members of LABBS (Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers ) and SAI (Sweet Adelines International) and between them have a combined 64 years of barbershop experience. Although their foundation is firmly in barbershop, their repertoire also includes songs from films and musicals and a variety of jazz numbers.

As well as the hard work which goes into making them successful what makes the quartet special is their friendship and sense of fun. Rehearsals are a never ending source of amusement - dominated mostly by large glasses of (red) wine, Sandra's jokes and lengthy gossiping (with a bit of singing….)

Eu4ia have sung at a variety of events - including after dinner cabaret and birthday parties as well as local and international shows. If you would like 'Eu4ia' to sing on a show, after dinner, at a wedding or at any kind of celebration, they would love to hear from you. Contact them by clicking on the email link above. It's always a pleasure making new friends, and having a drink!

Quartet Competition History

After getting together in January 2000, Eu4ia first competed in October that year when they won the LABBS Silver medal in Harrogate. The 2001 convention saw them become National Champions, winning the coveted LABBS Quartet Gold Medal.

In March 2003 they competed in Holland at the European Competition - in a tough contest they beat the opposition and became the first British quartet, male or female to win the gold medal. Understandably they are extremely proud of the achievement.

In March 2004, Eu4ia travelled to Coleraine in Ireland to compete in the International Music Festival where they took the Barbershop Quartet Trophy and the Choral Light Entertainment Section 2nd place position. Not only was it a great competition but the afterglows were something to be experienced!

In May 2004 Eu4ia competed for the first time at the Sweet Adelines International Regional competition in Glasgow. Their dream came partly true as they came first in the contest and won the right to compete in the USA at International. The dream wasn't fully realised at this point as Kate (Tenor) was realising another dream of her own and Olivia was born on 31st October 2004.

In May 2005 Eu4ia competed and won for the second time in region 31, this time in Portsmouth and this time they did go to International......

Yes In October 2005 Eu4ia competed at Sweet Adelines International Contest in Detroit and were delighted to be placed 12th. This automatically qualifies them to compete at International in Las Vegas in 2006.

What Next? Well, watch this space for Las Vegas International October 2006 ……… Woohooooo
