Rosemary
is a life-long compulsive scribbler, who first won recognition for her
poems at the age of 8. On leaving school she joined the Surrey Advertiser,
Guildford
's local weekly newspaper, as a junior reporter where she began to learn
the craft of journalism through challenging reports on her specialist
subject, the budgerigar shows. Other newspaper jobs followed, including
ten years on the West Sussex County Times in Horsham where she moved on to
reporting major events such as the re-opening of the Colgate toothpaste
mine, not to mention write ups on every restaurant in the area. One day
she went to write a feature on Paulette Maisner, a
Brighton
based expert on eating disorders, and this led to a successful
collaboration on several books, including The Food Trap which received
widespread acclaim and was translated into several languages. Rosemary
also collaborated with stage medium Carmen Rogers on a biography of
Carmen's life and work as a psychic. In 1996 Rosemary met Lama Gangchen, a
Tibetan Healing Lama who became her teacher. A section of this website is
devoted to writing inspired by Lama Gangchen's tantric teachings. Rosemary
has also written under the name Rosemary Turner |
