Talk by Rodney
Berry 7.30 pm at the Lighthouse Media Centre, Brighton followed
by works in progress at Sumo Bar, Brighton.
The
first Blip meeting featured Australian artist Rodney
Berry, currently based at the ATR research labs in Kyoto,
Japan. Rod presented an overview of his work, ranging from
his early sculptures (Vital Organ) and tinkered-together
instruments (Percy's
Laundry Organ) to some of his latest work, including
the interactive, biologically-inspired music environments

Sky and Feeping
Creatures.
After the
talk there were three works in progress downstairs in the Sumo
bar:
Sam
Woolf's interactive sound installation The
Sound Gallery;
James
Mandelis' evolutionary music performance system Genophone,
that can be controlled in real-time using a data glove;
ROYGBIV,
a three screen generative film piece by Andy
Webster.
