My fascination with Egyptology began in the early
70's when I read "Chariots of the Gods" by Erich von Daniken. Since then I
have read everything on the subject that I could easily obtain and have
found that contrary to my original beliefs, the ancient Egyptian
civilisation was a vastly complex and enigmatic machine.
Why do we know
so little of a civilisation that obviously accomplished so much? What
happened to the Ancient Egyptian language? How technologically advanced
were they? What or Who was the first "God" they worshipped and why? These
questions amongst others keep myself and many. many other people
throughout the world intrigued.
Thorough investigation through
archaeology is vitally important to modern civilisation, because without
knowing what led to the demise of the ancient Egyptian culture, how are we
to avoid making the same mistakes. There is also the "missing link"
effect. A vast period of time in the history of man is missing, knowledge
that could benefit ours and future societies, knowledge that is now lost
forever if the Egyptian scientific and political hierarchy get their
way.
Recent investigations by revered archaeologists have led to
extreme controversy within archaeological circles and the arguments have
become so bitter as to cause the cessation of almost all archaeological
digs by the Egyptian government. The official reason for this is the
fear that sites may be overworked??? and cause harm to sites not yet
discovered.
In my very humble and totally inexpert view this argument
is a load of hogwash!
Why do we still not know what is behind the
Grantenbrink door? (this is a small stone block with 2 metal locking pins
that is positioned halfway up a very narrow duct inside the Great Pyramid
at Cheops, discovered by a small machine,(upuaut2), invented by
Grantenbrink) Surely with today's advanced technology, it should have been
easy to find whatever is behind it?
Then there is the Sphinx!
In
one corner we have the experts who say it was built at around the same
time as the Pyramids. In the other corner we have equally qualified
experts saying that the Sphinx must be much older, as there are obvious
signs that it was flood damage, and we're talking Great Flood, time of
Noah here, therefore the Sphinx must be older than the time of
Noah!
Why do we still not have the answer to this?
What about the
drawings in the Pyramids and tombs that suggest they had electricity (a
battery of sorts) and a crude light bulb. there has been no denial or
confirmation of these possibilities.
The new breed of investigative
archaeologists have been labelled as "Pyramidiots" and have been denied the
ability to further their investigations, and why?
Simply, professional
pride.
The same reason that the earth was believed to be flat for such
a long time, or the same reason Darwin was ignored for so long.
The
eminent scientists who have been telling it like they say it is, do not
want to be proved wrong!
It is time the Egyptian government and
scientific bodies cleaned house. Sweep out the blinding dust and dirt and
put their house in proper
order.
