ERICH VON DANIKEN

In the early 70's I was given a book to read by a friend and neighbour.
The book was "Chariots of the Gods" by Erich Von Daniken.
This book was a joy to read and a real eye-opener.
My friend and I spent many hours discussing it's contents,
and the freedom I felt at doing so was profound to say the least!

During my formative years,
I had felt a deep dissatisfaction with the religious teachings of my elders,
but was never encouraged to question or dispute them.
For the first time,
I was given alternative answers to many questions I had buried deep within my consciousness,
and realised that I was perfectly free to ask all the questions I wanted to,
and to this day I haven't stopped asking.

I also gained from this book a deep fascination
for both the Egyptian and Mayan cultures and still read and learn all I can on these subjects.

I have read all of the books I could get by Mr. Von Daniken
and although I may not agree with all of his ideas,
I remain eternally grateful for the courage
and foresight it took to rebel against
such long established views.
