This whole page is by definition, self indulgent. I have included it on the site because it's the sort of thing some people ask for. I don't know what sort of people because I never meet them. To me they are anonymous (usually) e-mail addresses. Before you even look I'll tell you that it's really boring and you needn't bother unless you are already a life long holder of a 'Milletts' store card and a paid up member of the Totally Weird Anorak & Trainspotters Society (TWATS). Read on you sad bastards, read on.

(I will be giving a prize to the first person who can tell me why there is such a big gap between this line and the word Education below. It completely eludes me.)

I am a very easy going person who is generally extremely tolerant of other peoples views and opinions, keeping my own to myself. These are just some of the things that I feel really strongly about or that get my back up.

Drugs & Alcohol Legalise everything to put the dealers out of busines, put health warnings on alcohol and use a percentage of the profits from both for education and treatment centres.

GOD I believe in god but not as any sort of a person. I believe Heaven and Hell are both states of mind that are experienced here on Earth while we are alive.

Money I do actually believe that Money is the root of all Evil. Without money there would be no greed, no third world debt and no poverty.

Snobs This is a spin off from money really, but I hate people who think they are in some way better than everybody else because they are rich and famous. They act appallingly put everybody down and generally think the sun shines out of their arses.

Loan Companies You know the ones I mean. Consolidate all your debts, reduce your monthly outgoings etc. etc. A few years ago these guys were known as 'loan sharks' then they found a way to go legit. Now they make even more money out of people's misery and what's more they are protected by Law. I would like to see a ceiling put on the amount of interest a company can charge and put these hyenas out of business.

Internet Sex Well it's the Internet Sex Sites that I object to and in particular the ones that open in your browser when you are trying to open a completely different page and then keep opening more and more pages when you try to shut them down. I don't know what can be done, but something should be. I think the problem again lies with greed and money.

Photography An old favourite of mine that goes back to when I took a Photography course in Nottingham. I used to have my own darkroom but don't have the space anymore. I'll probably pursue digital photography when I can afford a good camera. The cheap ones aren't worth having for serious stuff. If you're interested visit my Photo Gallery

Cooking This goes back to when I ran a vegetarian cafe in Norwich twenty years ago. I learned to cook from necessity and got a buzz from people paying to eat something I'd made. I love experimenting with Chinese and Indian dishes and accumulated a good variety of recipes.

Writing This is a fairly recent one. Again it's a buzz when somebody reads something you have written and compliments you on it. If anybody is interested, the first chapter of a new book entitled Ashes to Ashes, is available to download for free on the webbooks site under the psuedonym of R. Daneel Olivaw.

T.V. Sad isn't it but I have to list television as a hobby because I spend so much time watching it. I'm an Eastenders addict, a Crossroads cretin and a Sopranos slave. I think Britain makes some of the best dramas in the world and as I'm paying for my TV license now I intend to get my money's worth.

Computers This is more like a vice that a hobby. I spend more time each day in front of a computer than I do sleeping. I write on it, listen to music, compose music, play games and love discovering new things to do on it. I also like getting old PC's to work and building new ones from scratch.

Books, Movies, Music These all have their own sections further down this page.

The title of this section is a bit misleading as it concerns my favourite cars and bikes. Some I can only dream about but I've also had to include the ones I've owned so they didn't feel left out.

I have always believed that if you get the opportunity to travel, then take it. Life is all about experiences and to achieve a wide variety I think you need to go outside of your everyday environment. Here is a list of the places I've been and my thoughts about them.

France This was where it all started. Summer, 1963 when I was only ten years old I went on a school trip to Normandy and loved every minute of it. It definitely wetted my appetite for the years that followed.

Spain The first time I visited here was 1968 with my Grandmother and Cousin. We went on a pretty normal package holiday to Torremolinos and I saw my first and last Bull fight. I drove through the centre of Spain to Marbella in a camper van in 1978 and returned to Madrid in 1991. Really liked Madrid but didn't rate the people.

Belgium I visited Brussells in 1989 and passed through Belgium in 1990 on my way to Berlin. Not the most memorable of places.

Holland Drove through Holland in 1991 on my way back from Copenhagen. Stayed one night in Rotterdam and caught a ferry from the Hook. Have been back to visit Amsterdam twice since then in 1994 and 1995. I love this city which I think is the friendliest place I've ever been to.

Denmark Copenhagen is beautiful and I was particularly impressed with the Tivoli Gardens.

Italy I have only ever been to Rome, but have been about five times since my first visit in 1977. This is one of the few places where I never book a Hotel in advance. I have always found vacancies within walking distance of the Railway station at greatly reduced rates. Restaurants and food are both amazing.

Switzerland Not a lot to say about this place. Spent a couple of nights in Geneva in 1978, very clean and expensive. That's it!

Germany I love Berlin! A very nice place to visit. I first came in 1990 for the Roger Waters concert and the atmosphere was wonderful. Saw East Berlin just a few months after the wall came down and what I felt can't be put into words and will stay with me for the rest of my life. Check out the Photo Gallery.

India I had waited all my life to travel to India so when I got the chance I stayed for a month. Brilliant, though I'm not sure I'd want to do it again. Traveled around Northern India by train and did everything, including getting ripped off by semi precious stone dealers. Breathtaking country and firm contender for largest degree of culture shock. Check gallery.

USA Many trips over the years since 1978.
Loved Long Beach, California but didn't think much of LA.
Similarly liked Miami, Florida but was much nicer 20 years ago.
