Leisure                                 

Hartlepool has a multiplex cinema and entertainment centre, picturesque coastal and countryside cycling and rambling paths, the traditional seaside resort of Seaton Carew, live music venues and many sports and fitness clubs. The Mill House Leisure Centre which can be found near to the town centre has a large swimming pool, fitness room and sports hall and a large variety of sporting activities are held there.

Behind the leisure centre is situated The Hartlepool Indoor Bowling club where you can enjoy a drink or a snack with your friends. If you become a member you can enjoy a great game of bowls or even join in the team competitions.

There is no shortage of pubs, clubs and restaurants in Hartlepool.
Behind the Bowling Club is the home of Hartlepool United football Ground, situated at Victoria Park.

Hartlepool has some very good parks, two of the largest being Ward Jackson Park and The Burn Valley Gardens.

Being on the coast, surfing, boating and fishing are popular activities also.

Retail

Hartlepool has Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, the third biggest shopping centre in the North East, it is a covered shopping mall located in the centre of the town. Two weekly outdoor markets are held on a Wednesday and Thursday, near to the shopping centre.
The Wednesday market being made up of stalls selling all kinds of second hand goods.
The Thursday market has stalls selling fresh produce, clothing, bedding etc.

Several large supermarkets are located within the boundaries of the town.
Anchor retail park is situated close to the Marina.

Situated at the Marina itself is Navigation Point, a large row of craft and designer shops that are situated beneath residential flats that overlook the Marina.
