What is Home Staging?

Very popular in America, Home Staging is beginning to be used more widely in this country, as people realise that they don't have the time and money, or expertise, to carry out the changes themselves. Showcasing a property's best features involves more than just de-cluttering. Home staging is all about creating a lifestyle with maximum buyer appeal. To create a favourable impression, reviewing the house starts at the curb-side, goes through every room in the house, and right to the bottom of the back garden (see First Visit). Our policy of minimum impact for maximum increase comes from Mies Van der Rohe's philosophy of "Less is more". However, we do not completely desensitise a home and leave it soulless and sterile, but aim to retain that lived in feel. We work with the owner at their required budget to find out their individual taste, what is working for them and who uses the space, when and how.
