The function of the North West Regional Umpires Commission is to ensure that the ARA Rules of Racing are observed at all rowing events in the North West Region
It examines prospective umpires for competency and assists umpires in
maintaining the highest standards of umpiring at events in the North West
It conducts routine checks at events to ensure compliance with ARA Rules and
provides advice to event organisers
It provides a forum through which the
concerns of umpires and event organisers may be referred to Commissions of the
ARA
The Commission meets formally twice per year (usually in February and October)
