POND SPECIFICATIONS

Gallonage.    6965 UK gallons (8364 US). Maximum depth 6ft 2"

Filtration.    

Drain line 1 - Aerated bottom drain fed by Secoh 50 airpump. 110mm pressure pipe to EA Nexus fitted with EA Answer and 180 litres of Kaldness K1. 170,000 BTU Heat exchanger, gas boiler and Carel S90 Digistat (probe located in nexus filter.  Returned by an ITT AG8 pump to a TPR on rear wall, at 3ft depth

Drain line 2 - Aerated bottom drain fed by Secoh 50 airpump. 110mm pressure pipe to vortex unit and three bay filter unit filled with Japanese Matting. Returned via 55W TMC UV unit by a  ITT AG8 pump to TPR at 3ft depth

Skimmer - Surface skimmer powered by an OASE Aquamax 10,000 pump. Two valved outlets, one to waterfall and one to sub-surface return.

Sand filter - 30" sand filter running on a separate system, inlet from mid-water and deep water return. Powered by an ITT Argonaut J200EC (1.5HP), this filter is run for approximately 24hrs every week to polish the water to a very high standard. The unit is thoroughly backwashed before and after use and contains AFM media to prevent anaerobic buildup.

Returns - Four returns, two TPRS as above plus one return 15" from bottom of pond (from Sand Filter) and one at 12" depth which is the waterfall bypass fed by the skimmer.

Air Supply - Four 50 litre air pumps supplying the two diffuser drains, nexus and Japanese matting filter

Trickle Tower - 4ft by 12" trickle tower filled with 3500 bac-balls.

FEBI Turbo Cleaner - To strip out DOC, pumped from last matting chamber back to first.

The pond is turned over via the filters every 1.7 hours. When the sand filter and skimmer return are also running an exercise current of 9,000 gph is achieved with 4000 of this going through the biological filtration.

Waste water is collected in a sump under the filter house floor and then pumped away using a dirty-water pump.
