Pond 'deconstruction'

My old pond had served me well for a couple of years. Although the pond was a liner construction, I had built it with a concrete base and concrete block walls. Because of this, and the fact that it is located at the back of the garden, I decided to use the structure as a 'filter house'

The first step then was to rehouse my few fish and empty the water. The creases in the liner that were inevitable can clearly be seen

Within a few hours I had managed to turn my old pond and filter area into a pile of rubble!

The old liner and polystyrene backing had been removed exposing the concrete surfaces.
