The three big guns in Division One Tuesday all racked up good wins this week with leaders Station Hotel winning 10—2 against visitors The Sunnyside and second placed Lucarlys Renegades going one better with an 11—2 home win against Fiddler Layabouts. Cleethorpes Cricket were romping it at home to The West Marsh rattling off the first six singles before the visitors got on the scorecard. Two singles plus one doubles was all the visitors had to show for their exertions. Buddies Guddies’ 7—5 home win against Holton-Le-Clay Cricket Club puts them in fourth spot but they have played more games than those around them. Fiddler ‘A’ had to thank skipper Paul Shipp and his partner D. Hall for their point against visitors Birds Eye Hotshots for their win in the last doubles.

Jubilee Gigolos unbeaten record came to an end at Cue Hustlers in Division Two this week with a 7—5 defeat. The home side were up for it from the off and were soon in the comfort zone leading 4—1. A 5—3 interval advantage was turned into their 7—5 win with a share of the doubles. Joining Hustlers, just one point behind the leaders, are Spiders Web after their 7—S win at Clee Social Beatles and The Swashbuckle can’t be ruled out after their 7—5 win at Albion Sharks moved them into fourth place. The two bottom sides were well and truly beaten with The M.& M.s losing l0—2 at Kingsway and Buddies losing 12—0 when they failed to turn up at The Market Hotel.

Another side that failed to turn up was in Division Three when Casablanca Cupcakes failed to arrive at The Green Man and didn’t even have the decency to telephone before six o’clock giving their opponents no time to cancel other commitments. This 12—0 keeps The Green Man two points clear of The Duke of Wellington who won 7—5 against visitors The R.A.O.B. Club but have played a game more. Rutters Nutters could only raise seven players for their visit to Buddies Baddies but it was enough to secure a 7—5 win. Clee Social Nutters hit top form with an 11—1 win at The Casablanca against Grimsby Tryers. The only success for the home side coming from Michael Hardaker and John Turrell in the second doubles. Spiders Birdettes could only muster seven players for the visit of Mariners and it proved costly with an 8—A defeat. In the Immingham derby it was The Mayflower that gained bragging rights with a 7—5 win at county Potters mainly thanks to Y. Pexman and P. Graham’s last doubles win.
