I'm an Amateur Telescope Maker and Astronomer based in Yorkshire in the UK. I’ve been a stargazer nearly all my life but only started my telescope building very recently. Sometime around 1999 I started to feel the urge to get a larger telescope, but with fatherhood looming I thought it unlikely I would be able to afford a new one. After much soul searching I decided to have a go at making my own. This seemed a crazy idea at first, at least that's what everyone else seemed to think. However, the idea has taken hold and has now matured into a full-blown (if time constrained) obsession.
